Coumadin Clinic

Our on-site Coumadin Clinic offers finger-poke technology with instant results.  The Patient’s results are reviewed, coumadin dose adjusted accordingly, and education supplied on possible interactions, complications and side effects of coumadin/warfarin therapy.  Patients also have the option of having their PT/INR drawn from the vein at a lab of their choice.  Lab results are faxed to the coumadin clinic; a nurse interprets the result and calls the patient with dosing instructions based on validated protocols.

Device Clinic

Patients with implantable devices such as pacemakers and internal defibrillators require device evaluation at intervals specified by the physician.  Our on-site device clinic is staffed by certified, trained technologists who work closely with the physicians and device manufacturers to ensure that the device is adjusted properly to give the patient the most benefit.  Our device clinic offers the most recent, cutting edge technology in device evaluation.

Stable Chest Pain Clinic

The physicians and staff at the Heart Center for Excellence are committed to providing the best cardiac care the area has to offer. Many patients report to their primary healthcare provider with symptoms of chest pain that require further evaluation. In many instances, patients are referred to the Emergency Department.

The Heart Center would like to offer the primary healthcare provider an alternative for prompt evaluation of your patients with stable chest pain*. We are now offering a Stable Chest Pain Clinic, during office hours, Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm.  This is offered to patients who present to the your office with stable chest pain. If you feel a patient does not need to be seen in an emergent setting but needs prompt evaluation, one of our specialists will evaluate the patient and order appropriate diagnostic testing. These patients can be evaluated the same day for calls received by 2pm or by the next business day if received after 2pm.

*Patients presenting with the following symptoms would not be considered appropriate candidates for evaluation in our Stable Chest Pain Clinic:

      1. Chest pain at rest with ST elevation or depression

      2. Tachyarrhythmia with heart rate greater than 150 bpm

      3. Bradyarrhythmia with heart rate less than 50 bpm.

      4. Hypertension (BP >250/125)

      5. Hypotension

      6. Chest pain associated with Pulmonary Edema

For any patients presenting with the above symptoms, the primary healthcare provider will need to speak directly to a Heart Center physician so that a determination can be made where it will be most beneficial for the patient to receive further evaluation. If it is determined that the emergency room is the most appropriate, we will make arrangements for one of our cardiologists to meet the patient at the hospital.
